Hoa Sypolt is a live event and wedding painter based in Columbia, SC, who uses light, color, and intuitive brushstrokes to capture human emotions and connections on your special day. A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with concentration in Painting, Hoa has gained the skills and knowledge in the art of painting emotional depth from live scenery and live models.
Hoa combines both odor-free acrylics with traditional oils to create her masterpieces. She feels comfortable and confident in using old and new techniques in order to produce a one of a kind painting. Her artistic expressions are impressionistic in style with varying degrees of abstractions that are especially unique to her paintings. Hoa's influences include Monet, Matisse, Paul Gauguin, Dali, and Georgia O'Keeffe. She is a contemporary artist who is beyond thrilled and honored to be able to do some of the things she loves most together, which are traveling, attending weddings, and live painting. It is an absolute pleasure for Hoa to travel to a wedding and paint her heart out! Hoa is available locally and internationally.
THE DETAILS
~Travel is included within the first 50 miles, any milage after is 70 cents per mile
~Over 4 hours of traveling require one-night lodging compensation of $300
~Extra travel costs may include airfare, lodging for 2 nights, and painting shipping cost if outside of SC
~Two vendor meals will be provided during the event
~Upon signing the contract, the first deposit (50% of total cost) is required to reserve the live painting service
~The remaining balance can be paid upon pick up or delivery
~Painting can be picked up at the studio or free delivery within 50 miles of Columbia, SC
~Painting can be shipped with additional shipping costs
~Payment can be made by PayPal (additional 3% transaction fee), Venmo @Hoa-Sypolt, or personal check by mail
THE PROCESS
The subject of the painting is decided prior to the event. The bride and groom can choose the wedding ceremony, the first kiss, the first dance(a popular choice), the reception, or any idea can be consulted with Hoa in order to find the best subject for your wedding painting.
On the day of the wedding, Hoa will arrive 1.5-2 hours before the wedding begins, and stay until 30 minutes to 1 hour before the wedding ends. She will paint as wedding guests arrive to the ceremony or reception. Most of the painting will be created live at the wedding. Hoa will take the painting back to her studio for an additional 2-4 weeks to finalize all the intricate details. You will receive a preview of your painting by email before it is fully completed. Painting can be shipped, picked up, or delivered.
Prints, greeting cards, and thank you cards can be made of the finished painting as a keepsake for family and guests.
